Frequently asked questions
Bookkeeping, demystified
A bookkeeper keeps your day-to-day financial records accurate and up to date — categorizing transactions, reconciling accounts, and producing reports. An accountant or CPA uses those records for higher-level work like tax filing and strategy. Clean bookkeeping makes your accountant's job easier and cheaper. We're proudly affiliated with Magnolia CPA, so the two work hand in hand.
We quote a flat monthly fee based on transaction volume, how many accounts you have, and how clean your starting point is. Most small businesses fall into a predictable range, and we'll walk you through it in the free consultation — no hourly surprises.
Yes — catch-up work is a big part of what we do. We quote a one-time project to bring your books current, then transition you onto a clean monthly rhythm so you don't fall behind again.
Always. We deliver clean year-end books and play nicely with whoever files your taxes. If you don't yet have a CPA, we can introduce you to Magnolia CPA or other trusted partners.
Yes. We share documents through SmartVault, a bank-level encrypted client portal, and use QuickBooks Online's secure environment for your books. We never email sensitive files in the clear.
Not unless you want to. Most clients work with us entirely remotely. If you're nearby and prefer to meet at our Magnolia office, you're always welcome.
Request a consultation. We'll talk through your business, look at where your books are today, and put together a clear plan. No pressure to commit.
